You can enjoy some great music over Labor Day weekend in St. Louis. The Big Muddy Blues Festival is an annual two-day event with performances from dozens of local and nationally known musicians.

When and Where

The Big Muddy Blues Festival is held each year during Labor Day weekend in St. Louis. In 2016, the festival is Saturday, September 3, and Sunday, September 4, from 3 p.m. to 12 a.m. It's held on Laclede's Landing, just north of the Gateway Arch in downtown St. Louis. There are three outdoor stages set up for performances during the festival. Daily admission is $8 a person in advance, or you can get a two day pass for $15. Tickets can be purchased online at the Big Muddy Blues Festival website. Tickets are also available at the door for $10 a person.

Children 12 and younger get in free. Many restaurants on Laclede's Landing also offer food and drink specials during the festival, so it's easy to find a cold beer or a bite to eat.

A note for 2016: The ongoing construction project at the Gateway Arch has closed some roads near Laclede's Landing. Visitors can still find good parking options in the covered garages and surface lots along Washington Avenue. There is also a large parking lot near the Lumiere Casino. Metrolink trains do make a stop a Laclede's Landing, so taking public transportation is another viable option.
