Family-owned Record Town opened its doors in 1957 and has been providing music lovers of all ages with one of the best vinyl and CD collections in the country ever since. This historic cattle district is steeped in cowboy history, and there’s plenty to do here to keep you occupied for days on end, from restaurants and saloons to live music and entertainment—and, oh yeah, plenty of shopping. Of the more than 30 shops scattered around the Stockyards, some standouts include Billy Bob’s Texas Gift Shop, Chief Records, Cross-Eyed Moose, Longhorn General Store, Knife Alley, and Home on the Range.
