The Top 11 Rooftop Bars in Las Vegas

We appreciate a good Vegas bottomless brunch as much as the next guy or gal. And no one loves strolling the Strip during daylight hours more than we do to explore the city’s many fabulous public art pieces and over-the-top spectacles (see also: choreographed fountains; an improbably positioned Eiffel Tower with a view of Venice’s gondolas; and yoga on a 550-foot-high observation wheel). But nightlife fuels Las Vegas. This is why you took that disco nap—because the party doesn’t really start until late. In recent years, Las Vegas has diversified its nightlife offerings. The best late-night scenes don’t necessarily require you to petition for entry in line behind a drunken bachelorette party (although this scenario is ultimately inevitable, unless you’ve learned how to navigate the club scene like a pro).

These days, there’s a late-night rooftop scene for every taste, from intimate gatherings in Downtown lounges to thumping rooftop pool parties, and even a little nighttime golf with your cocktail.

Apex Social Club

Palms Casino Resort

Address
55th floor Ivory Tower, 4321 W Flamingo Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89103, USA
Phone +1 866-752-2236

At its peak in the mid-aughts, no club could touch the Palms' 55th-floor Ghostbar for nightlife atmosphere and an unrivaled view of the Strip. The space has been reborn as Apex Social Club as part of the Palms’ $690 million renovation, turning the 8,000-square-foot space into an open-air boutique nightclub—with those same fantastically vertiginous views. In a testament to the owners’ faith in clubbers to drink around wildly expensive art, you’ll mingle with life-size humanoids made with assemblages of found objects and suspended in massive resin blocks. The intimate (by Vegas standards) club opens into a patio of VIP tables. It’s an expensive—but worth it—night out with one of the best views of Las Vegas in the entire valley.

If you’re more about the tailgate atmosphere than laser light beams and vinyl-clad dancers, Beer Park, which occupies a 10,000 square foot deck at Paris Las Vegas, might be for you. On weekends, its brunches combine high-energy live music and DJs with ultimate hangover fare (think fried chicken, egg, and bacon sandwiches) and beer on tap. After dark, it’s a laidback scene, where you can socialize over giant Jenga games, pool, and fantastic views of the Bellagio fountains right across the street.

Address
124 S 6th St #100, Las Vegas, NV 89101, USA
Phone +1 702-473-9523

Opened by legendary “Rock ‘n’ Roll Chef” Kerry Simon in 2014, this cozy and witty restaurant is considered almost solely responsible for revving up the now buzzy dining scene in Downtown Las Vegas. Housed in a former flophouse, Carson Kitchen later got a boost in the form of an expansion: a rooftop bar and lounge. The thoroughly urbane setting is perfect for those who prefer a laidback convo, cocktails, and shareable plates to a nightclub. The menu is always rotating, but a few stalwarts are not to be missed, including caramelized bacon “jam” topped with bubbling brie. It’s comfort food at its finest.

Now that more and more Vegas visitors have discovered Downtown’s artsy and relaxed vibe, you’ll find a fun mix of locals and visitors enjoying the relaxed charm of the Commonwealth on the corner of Fremont St. and South 6th. Inside, you’ll be in awe of the old-school interior, with its chandeliers, exposed beams, and Laundry Room speakeasy locals have known about for years. But don’t get so caught up in the atmosphere that you miss the rooftop, which is where the real fun is in beautiful weather. Dance to classic house, join international DJs for nickel beer nights, and people-watch the wacky scene that is Fremont East from under the twinkling lights two floors up.

Address
3595 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109-8918, USA
Phone +1 702-777-3800

Victor Drai is the indisputable founder of the nightclub scene in Las Vegas. A firm believer that it’s the venue—not the star DJ—that makes a club hot, he has made good on that truism in his rooftop pool and nightclub, which occupies the entire rooftop of The Cromwell. Sitting 11 stories above the Strip, the 35,000-square-foot party zone is the place to be for its daytime pool scene, but it glows at night under towering palms. Featuring 150 tables, eight pools (including five bungalow pools), and one of the best views in Vegas, Drai's is also known to throw one epic night swim party. Be aware that there’s a dress code—a refreshing change from the free-for-all pool parties being thrown around town in recent years.

Foundation Room

Address
3950 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89119, USA
Phone +1 702-632-7631

For years, the Foundation Room, with its staggering views of the Strip from the 63rd floor of Mandalay Bay, was exclusively for members. Now, everyone has access to the lounge-y, opulent club, whose private dining rooms are filled with rare artifacts (think Tibetan artifacts, confessionals from an Irish church, a chandelier that survived MGM’s devastating 1978 fire). Pair this with great cocktails, several bars, and a big dance floor, and you have the makings of one of the best spaces in Las Vegas. You can stand outside and see the Strip unfold north before you.

So, you want a mega-club that also has outdoor space? Head to Omnia, the 75,000-square-foot Caesars Palace nightclub where revelers pack in for resident headliners like Calvin Harris, Steve Aoki, and Tiesto. Guests party underneath a 22,000-pound, kinetic chandelier centerpiece in a domed four-story room, surrounded by mezzanine-level private booths modeled after European opera houses. Omnia’s interior is spectacular, but even more spectacular: getting out of the sweaty fray into the terrace with incredible mid-level views of the Strip. Reserve VIP bottle service for a guaranteed seat outside.

Address
3940 Mandalay Bay Rd Delano, Las Vegas, NV 89119, USA
Phone +1 877-632-5400

On its own, Rivea, a Riviera-themed restaurant by acclaimed chef Alain Ducasse, is one of the hottest tables in town. But it's the adjacent Skyfall Lounge—where warm, rich tones amplify the desert sunsets—that will draw you in for specialty twilight cocktails (return for a post-dinner nightcap). The lounge is large enough to take in the views, especially on the patio, but consider making a reservation to get a table. The cocktails, formulated especially for this magical atmosphere, are superlative and change with the seasons.

Topgolf, Paradise, NV 89109, USA

Don’t let the name mislead you: The Las Vegas location of the mega-golf complex Topgolf is a four-story, climate-controlled complex with more than 120 hitting bays, five bars, big TV screens that line the driving range (so you can watch lots of sports, not just golf), and a 900-person concert venue. There are ample things to do, even for non-golfers. In the summer, its Hideaway Pool—with swim-up bar, luxurious cabanas, and full food and beverage service—offers one of the best nightlife bets on the weekends. Add to that a rotating roster of great DJs and dive-in movie nights, and you’ve got a Vegas splash.

There are those who cannot fathom the idea of Vegas nightlife without actor-type bartenders theatrically mixing dry ice cocktails and juggling glassware. And for them, we present VooDoo Rooftop Nightclub & Lounge, 51 stories atop the Rio. It offers one of Vegas’ best—and most underrated—views, since Rio looks towards the Strip. And with its off-Strip location, its vibe is more relaxed than many of its Strip counterparts. It’s a good place to take a bigger party for bottle service, good beats, and open-air views with a nice breeze.
