The bulk of the best Oklahoma City hotels are located downtown or in Bricktown, but there are a couple of gems outside of those areas as well. If you're traveling to Oklahoma City or are a resident looking for a night away from home, here is a list of some of the best Oklahoma City hotels.

, the historic and elegant Skirvin Hotel opened originally in 1911. After revolving ownership and decline, it closed in 1989 and was boarded up until extensive renovations resulted in its opening again in 2007. Today, the Skirvin is one of the premiere hotels in the metro. The 225 rooms have all the modern comforts, including flat-screen television and hotel services are extensive, punctuated by the Park Avenue Grill restaurant and Red Piano lounge.

Colcord Hotel

Like the Skirvin, the Colcord has an important place in Oklahoma City's history. It was Oklahoma City's first skyscraper when it opened in 1910 as a luxurious office building. Untouched when many buildings were leveled during OKC's urban renewal, the Colcord underwent extensive renovations and re-opened as one of the more elegant Oklahoma City hotels in 2006. Rooms feature flat-screen televisions and oversized showers while the hotel offers fitness center, business center, two restaurants, lounge and more.

Ambassador Hotel



Recognized by AAA as one of the state's Four Diamond Hotels, the Ambassador Hotel in Midtown is as good as it gets in terms of luxury. It is located in the Osler building, a unique art-deco structure built in 1929. In addition to an outdoor pool, a fantastic rooftop bar and their Cafe Cuvee restaurant, the hotel offers complimentary transportation in a Cadillac Escalade.

The Courtyard Downtown, a Marriott property, opened in the summer of 2004 and is right in the heart of the Bricktown action, just steps from the Chesapeake Energy Arena and but a block or so from the canal. The hotel features restaurant, fitness center, indoor heated pool and more, definitely a good choice among Oklahoma City hotels

The Hampton Inn is located along Sheridan Avenue, just on the north side of the Bricktown Ballpark, so upper floor rooms get a view of the Oklahoma City Dodgers games. In addition, the hotel has a fitness center and an indoor pool with whirlpool. For those visiting Bricktown or downtown, it is one of the more convenient Oklahoma City hotels.

Located mere blocks from the Will Rogers Airport terminal, Sheraton's Four Points Hotel is a good option for visitors who want to stay close to the airport.
