A five-minute drive from the airport entrance, Hampton Inn & Suites Oakland Airport-Alameda is set in a coastal location with views out over the San Francisco Bay. Rooms and suites are simple but comfortable and come with private bathrooms with a shower/tub combination. Although there is no on-site restaurant, a complimentary breakfast buffet is held every morning in a colorful dining area and includes grab-and-go packs for guests in a hurry.
Guests can also get light bites, as well as beers, wine and other beverages, at the Bay View Bistro, and a convenience store sells snacks and other essentials. A large outdoor lap pool is set within a small courtyard with a separate hot tub and outdoor furniture. Other hotel services include a business center with public-use computers, scanners and printers, coin-operated laundry machines and a fitness room with aerobic and weights training equipment. A complimentary shuttle service carries guests from the hotel to the airport and to other attractions in the local area.

Best for Proximity: Hilton Oakland Airport
One of the closest hotels to the airport terminals, travelers can arrive at the Hilton Oakland Airport in under three minutes, with a free shuttle for quick and easy transportation. Guest rooms are modern and come with bathrooms with shower/tub combinations, and one- or two-bedroom suites include extras such as sofas and dining tables. A complimentary breakfast buffet is provided in the Amelia Café, which is adorned with murals depicting the famous aviation pioneer for whom the café is named.
At the casual Earhart’s Tavern, guests can order from a diverse bar menu that includes fresh and healthy meals made from locally sourced ingredients and enjoy sports and other events on the numerous flat-screen TVs lining the walls. Outside, a seasonal pool is set in a paved courtyard filled with sun loungers and adjacent to a pleasant lawn area. There is also an indoor fitness space with cardio machines and other exercise equipment and a business center with photocopying services.
Best for Families: Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Oakland - Airport
Like many of the hotels in the chain, Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Oakland - Airport offers excellent services and value for money for traveling families. When sharing a room with their parents, children under the age of 18 can stay free of charge, and children under the age of 11 can dine for free at the hotel restaurant (up to a maximum of four per family). However, the family-friendly credentials do not extend to furry family members due to a no pets policy.
Guest rooms and suites feature dated but comfortable furnishings, with space for rollaway beds and cribs to accommodate families. There is a large heated outdoor pool for guests to swim in, and a fitness center with exercise equipment and yoga mats. The Diamond Sports Bar is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner providing meals and drinks in a relaxed and casual setting. The hotel is also one of the closest to the airport, with the airport terminals just a few minutes’ drive away.
Best for Couples: Executive Inn & Suites
Just a ten-minute drive from the airport, the Executive Inn & Suites places guests in a scenic bayside location with views of the San Francisco skyline just a short distance from the heart of downtown Oakland. Rooms and suites are spacious, with bathrooms having shower/tub combinations on the ground floor and walk-in glass showers in other rooms. Waterside rooms have sliding glass doors that lead onto private balconies or patios for enjoying the bay views.

Just a three-minute drive from the airport and set amid picturesque gardens of lawns, shrubs, and palm trees, the Courtyard by Marriott Oakland Airport is a contemporary hotel best for traveling professionals and couples. Guest rooms come with flat-screen TVs with cable channels, bathrooms with shower/tub combos and couches. Some rooms also have an attached balcony with views over the grounds.

Its waterfront location offers views over a small marina, and the San Francisco Bay Trail runs along the front of the hotel, encouraging pleasant strolls along the water. The extended stay rooms and suites are spacious and many have waterfront views.
Suites range from one to three bedrooms and have full kitchens for guests wishing to self-cater. Accommodations include complimentary breakfast in the morning and a social hour of drinks and appetizers Monday through Thursday. While the hotel does not have an on-site restaurant, there are several dining options nearby. A covered patio with tables and chairs neighbors a courtyard featuring a lap pool and jacuzzi. Best for Comfort: Oakland Airport Executive Hotel
The Oakland Airport Executive Hotel is a three-minute drive from the airport and has a complimentary shuttle service to transfer guests to and from the terminals. Guest rooms have homey décor which creates a warm and welcoming vibe, with classic lampshades, polished wood furnishings and an attractive burnt orange color scheme. Rooms come with pillowtop beds, flat screen TVs, work desks and fridges, and shower/tub combinations inhabit each bathroom. Larger rooms contain extras such as roll-out sofas and balconies with views over the bay.
Bistro 105 serves a daily breakfast menu of omelets, waffles and other morning bites, and in the evenings offers burgers, pasta dishes, grilled sandwiches, and salads as well as a selection of beverages. Attached to the hotel is a large courtyard with an outdoor lap pool, a hot tub, and outdoor furniture for lounging. The fitness center has a small range of aerobic and weights machines. In the business center, you will find a communal PC, while the hotel itself can host business meetings and events in its six meeting rooms using audio-visual rental equipment.
Best Location: The Marina Inn on San Francisco Bay
Less than 10 minutes from the airport, the Marina Inn on San Francisco Bay overlooks the San Leandro Marina and is backed by the green fairways of the Marina Golf Course. Additionally, the Monarch Bay golf club is less than a five-minute walk away and the adjacent Marina Park has lawns, shady trees, walking trails along the shore and a sandy beach volleyball court. Guests can explore the park and other surrounding areas on complimentary hotel bicycles.
Other hotel amenities include a free airport shuttle service, a fitness room, and an outdoor lap pool and hot tub. Guest rooms have slightly dated, albeit comfortable furnishings. Deluxe rooms face onto the San Francisco Bay and come with private balconies for enjoying the maritime views. Public areas are cozy with padded armchairs and a stone-lined fireplace. Although there is no on-site restaurant, nearby eateries include American seafood fare at Horatio’s and authentic Mexican food and drinks at El Torito.
