Located near Ocklawaha and less than one and a half hours from Disney World, this split-level, lodge-style cabin sits on the shores of spring-fed Crystal Lake. It’s surrounded by oaks and pines and has its own private beach – making it the ideal playground for families.

Teach the little ones to fish, or get out on the water using the provided paddle boat and canoe. There are also two rental bikes, and an on-site children’s playground, so you can have some fun on land, as well.

Kids will love the cute bear theme of the cabin itself, which has an open-plan kitchen and great room, and a farm-style dining table for big family meals. Alternatively, you can grill out on the furnished deck. Baby essentials include a high chair, a Pack n’ Play, and stair gates.

If the kids get sick of home cooking, head into town for a restaurants like Primo's Pizzeria for Italian food like subs and pizza, and A & B Restaurant for Greek-American cuisine a Gyro on pita.

This quaint, two-bedroom cabin enjoys a tranquil location 15 miles north of downtown Gainesville. The nearby city is a college town, the home of the University of Florida, and because of its student population houses some of the state's best nightlife, and restaurants that are on a budget.

In a previous life, the property was a pony farm, and now you can explore beautiful tracts of pasture, cypress swamp, and native woodland, keeping an eye out for local animal and birdlife as you go.

The cabin itself is simple yet clean and comfortable. Brew a pot of coffee in the fully equipped kitchen, then head out on the covered porches (there’s one in front and one out back) to enjoy the early morning sunshine.

There are two bedrooms – one with a queen bed, one with two twins, so the rental is great for a smaller family – and a living room with an electric fireplace and flatscreen TV. Unfortunately, pets are not allowed.
