Cover bands are no stranger to the New Jersey bar scene. Live bands bring an energy to the table that a DJ or jukebox just can't. Let's face it, it's pretty awesome to be able to make a request and hear your favorite tune, real-time. You've got the chance to get up-close-and-personal with the band—your own personal concert for your group of friends and the other bar patrons. Read about some Jersey's best below...then go see them live!

Garden State Radio

Garden State Radio brings the (self-described) "Ultimate Audio Visual Experience" to New Jersey. Though they can customize their set for a particular venue, the group specializes in Top 40, EDM, and dance/hip-hop hits. LED video walls line both sides of their stage set up, lasers are coordinated with their songs, and the drum kit is illuminated.

New Power Soul

With a genre as broad as "Frank Sinatra to Metallica," New Power Soul doubles as an extremely popular wedding band. Expect to hear lots of tunes from this extensive playlist at one of their gigs, often at Just Jakes in Montclair.

The Bobby Lynch Band

Want an 8-piece band at your wedding or venue? The Bobby Lynch Band is your best bet, with a diverse set list from Earth, Wind & Fire to Eminem. Recently the band played the 95.5 PLJ holiday party, and regularly plays at Empire City Casino.

The Benjamins

The Benjamins perform over 200 shows per year, focusing on current hits. They've appeared on 95.5 PLJ, VH1, Fox News, and other television and radio outlets, and have performed at Madison Square Garden, IZOD Center, and The Prudential Center.

The Nerds

Think of The Nerds as the Grandfathers of New Jersey Cover Bands: they've been active for over 20 years, starting out playing a mix of soul, classic rock, and TV themes. They have shared the stage with Maroon 5, Sheryl Crow, Southside Johnny, and more.
