If you should happen to find yourself in the position of looking for a job in the Phoenix area, why not try to join one of the companies named as one of the best places to work in the country? Maybe your entry into the job search market wasn't voluntary, but was due to firing or layoffs. Have people told you that this may be the best thing that has ever happened to you, and that your next position could be even better than the last?
The best place to work in Arizona is a matter of opinion. Money isn't the only important characteristic of a quality workplace. You might think that a company that provides child care is the best while someone else believes that basketball courts or working from home makes it the best.
There are various organizations that rank companies and how they are viewed by employees and the public. Here are three resources for people conducting a job search in Arizona. Some of these have many jobs in our state, and some might have only a few regional positions. There may be openings in Greater Phoenix, but there might also be available positions in Tucson, Flagstaff and Prescott, for example. My favorite website for searching for jobs is Indeed.com. I found openings for all the companies listed below at that site.
Arizona Companies Included in the Forbes.com America's Best Employers
The 500 employers on the Forbes.com America's Best Employers list were "chosen based on an independent survey by Statista.com of 20,000 American employees working for large U.S. companies and institutions (minimum headcount: 2,500), and U.S. divisions of international firms.
They were asked anonymously through several online panels if they’d recommend their employer, or any other employers in their industry, to a potential employee."

You probably have heard of "Fortune 500" firms. Fortune is famous for providing information on the best performing companies in the world, ranked by revenue, growth, return, size and stock performance. But you might not know that Fortune also provides a list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For that are headquartered in the United States.
Unlike those on the Forbes.com list, companies apply to be on Fortune's list. "Two-thirds of a company’s survey score is based on the results of the Trust Index Employee Survey, which is sent to a random sample of employees from each company. This survey asks questions related to employees’ attitudes about management’s credibility, overall job satisfaction, and camaraderie. The other third is based on responses to the Culture Audit, which includes detailed questions about pay and benefit programs and a series of open-ended questions about hiring practices, methods of internal communication, training, recognition programs, and diversity efforts."
