TripSavvy's editorial guidelines Updated on 07/30/19 When in Miami, there will come a time that you get bored of seafood and Cuban pastries and arroz con frijoles (maybe, but probably not actually). If and when it does happen, you’ll have the opportunity to explore all the other menu items this melting pot of a city has to offer. Why not get down and dirty with a big, juicy burger? Our picks aren’t only tres tasty, they’re also Insta-worthy, so don’t put your phones away just yet. Snap a pic before you take a bite; it’ll last much longer. 01 of 09 LoKal Courtesy of LoKal View Map Address 3190 Commodore Plaza, Miami, FL 33133, USA Get directions Phone +1 305-442-3377 Web Visit website In Coconut Grove, you’ll find this super laid-back burger and beer joint where the beef used in the burgers is hormone-, antibiotic- and steroid-free. Cooked to perfection and ground in-house daily, the burger menu is extensive here. From the Frita burger, made with guava jelly and melted Gruyere, to a burger sandwiched between two halves of a seared, glazed doughnut, all your beefy dreams are bound to come true at LoKal. Vegan and gluten-free options are also available, for those who prefer a lighter, plant-based or allergy-friendly alternative. 02 of 09 Blue Collar Courtesy of Blue Collar Restaurant View Map Address 6730 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL 33138, USA Get directions Phone +1 305-756-0366 Web Visit website The dry-aged cheeseburger sold at this cozy MiMo neighborhood eatery uses a USDA Prime New York strip steak, Portuguese muffin, lettuce, tomato and onions (of course) and served with a side of piping hot and fresh fries. Everything on the menu at Blue Collar is incredible, but when it’s an elevated basic you’re craving, this is just the place and the dish that’ll hit the spot. 03 of 09 Pincho Factory Courtesy of Pincho View Map Address 12590 SW 88th St, Miami, FL 33186, USA Get directions Phone +1 305-501-2877 Web Visit website Because you’re in Miami, you can find essentially every American classic with a flavorful, Latin spin around town. We’re not complaining about it. The burgers at Pincho Factory, a Latin American-inspired diner, are made with U.S. Black Angus beef. Choose from six different options (including a veggie burger) and don’t forget to ask for an extra helping of the Secret Pincho Sauce. Add bacon, an egg, or fried cheese to any burger and find a place to dance it off after. 04 of 09 BnD Burger View Map Address 2523 NW 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33127, USA Get directions Ask anyone about the burgers at BnD and the response will be, “they’re really, really good.” Wood Tavern’s sister spot—it’s just next door—is known for its fuss-free and super tasty burger options. With just three on the menu (a cheeseburger, a fancy burger and a veggie burger), why not try them all? Add a side of fries and a milkshake and the meal is complete. We know, we know. Shake Shack has locations around the country, but Miamians have waited so long for one of their own (and now there are three—four if you include Aventura Mall!) that we have to mention it here. With a 100 percent Angus beef patty, the Shake Shack burger is freshly ground and made to order, served on a non-GMO Martin’s potato roll. Add tomato, pickles, onions, all or none of the above. Choose from a 'Shroom Burger, a regular hamburger, a ShackBurger, a ShackStack (which combines a cheeseburger and a ‘Shroom Burger) or a SmokeShack, topped with applewood smoked bacon. 06 of 09 Kush at Time Out Market Miami Courtesy of Kush by LoKal View Map Address 1601 Drexel Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33139, USA Get directions Phone +1 786-753-5388 Web Visit website Inside the newly opened Time Out Market Miami is Kush’s Slider Bar, where you can get a taste of the much talked about Wynwood burgers in a food hall setting. Try a guava and Gruyere burger, or even a fried alligator patty. Kush serves up all the fantastical, out of the ordinary flavors at this Miami Beach market that’s so worth visiting time and time again. If you prefer the original Kush, head to their stand-alone restaurant on the artsy side of town for the same amazing flavors in a very different setting. 07 of 09 Taurus Beer & Whisk(e)y House Courtesy of Taurus Beer & Whisk(e)y House View Map Address 3540 Main Hwy c103, Miami, FL 33133, USA Get directions Phone +1 305-529-6523 Web Visit website While they're on the expensive end at $17, the Taurus in Coconut Grove definitely delivers a phenomenal burger. Order the Chug Burger—a double patty topped with American cheese, pickles and a secret sauce—add bacon for $3 and you have the absolute perfect burger that pairs well with any brew or a whiskey on the rocks. You can also get a Philly Cheesesteak here or a Frita, and each is equally as delicious as the last. 08 of 09 Proper Sausages View Map Address 9722 NE 2nd Ave, Miami Shores, FL 33138-2311, USA Get directions Phone +1 786-334-5734 Web Visit website Yes, this is a sausage place and yes the sausages are darn good, but Proper Sausages in Miami Shores also serves up quite the burger, made with Wagyu beef. Take a lunch break here and grab a bottle of natural wine to go (or have a glass midday—no one’s counting) as you savor your Proper Burger, stuffed with lettuce, tomato and the delicious Proper Sauce. This place might be a little off the beaten path, but it’ll be on your radar for good after you experience the meaty goodness that’s being served up just 15 minutes north of Midtown. That's not all; there's so much to do in this neighborhood so you can explore after your meal. With locations throughout the city of Miami (and multiple in Miami Beach), BurgerFi serves up Angus beef burgers, shakes and custards, onion rings, fries and even hot dogs. But our favorite is, of course, the burger—specifically the Breakfast All Day Burger (with American cheese, maple syrup, a fried egg, a hash brown, grilled onions and ketchup) and the Conflicted Burger (this one has Angus beef and a veggie burger patty, American cheese, white cheddar, lettuce, tomato and the special BurgerFi sauce).
