Every year, Lonely Planet ranks the best in travel for the coming year in travel and this year, the German region of Bavaria landed toward the top of the heap.
“From the cloud-shredding Alps to story-book castles, Bavaria has something to delight every traveler,” said Lonely Planet spokesperson Dr. Stephanie Mair-Huydts. “Whether in the beer hall or on the ski slope, Bavarians really know how to be good hosts.
And 2016 will be the perfect time to experience a Bavarian welcome as the region celebrates the 500th anniversary of the Beer Purity Law. Cheers.”
Lonely Planet’s list is a highly anticipated ranking of the world’s hottest destinations and often has some heft when it comes to directing the plans of travelers in the coming year, so being included can be a boon for any destination.
Jens Huwald, managing director of Bayern Tourismus Marketing said: “We are delighted that Bavaria is included among the Top 10 Regions of 2016. We are proud that with its multifaceted offerings from thriving metropolises to living traditions, from famous royal palaces to unspoiled national parks, Bavaria fascinates more and more people.”
These tours can give you a great perspective of why Bavaria made the list.
