August festivals and fairs in Albuquerque keep the summer fun coming. Find music, dance, antiques and special sci-fi as some of the entertainment for this month.
Valencia County Community Expo
The Valencia County Expo is a week long agricultural event packed with activities. There is an ATV rodeo, agricultural events, FFA and 4-H shows, and mud volleyball. It takes place on Highway 314.

Sandoval County Fair
The county fair brings together 4-H projects and agricultural, home arts and crafts as they make their way to the New Mexico State Fair.

Bernalillo County Fair
County fairs are the precursor to the State Fair. The Bernalillo County Fair takes place at New Mexico Expo.

Santa Fe County Fair
The Santa Fe County Fair takes place at the Santa Fe County Fairgrounds on Rodeo Road. There will be agricultural events, home arts and a cook off.

Bosque Farms Community Fair
The Bosque Farms Fair takes place the first weekend of August and has been this small town's tradition since 1939. You'll find events such as sheep riding, a rodeo, agricultural exhibits and an art show.

Summer Festival and Wild West Adventures
There will be music, art, food, arts and crafts and more at this celebration of the old west.
Meet Peruvian Paso horses, and mountain men and women demonstrating their skills. It's happening at Los Ranchos de las Golondrinas, near Santa Fe.

Girls Inc. Arts and Crafts Show
The work of over 200 artists will be featured at the downtown plaza in Santa Fe. Proceeds from the artist booth fees benefits Girls, Inc.

Summer Wings Festival
The annual Summer Wings festival will celebrate the spectacular wildlife of New Mexico. See dragonflies, hummingbirds, butterflies and bees, take garden tours, learn about tarantulas. There will be talks, refreshments, bird ID, and activities for the kids at the Rio Grande Nature Center.

Great Southwestern Antiques Show
The antiques show brings together a vintage and antique collection of over 200 dealers of antiques, folk art, western items, Native American and ethnographic arts. The festival takes place at Expo New Mexico. A sneak preview takes place August 7 from 2 to 7 p.m.

The fiesta has taken place for more than 220 years. The Fiestas is the oldest in Valencia county, and is a three day celebration of the Blessed Virgin. There is a carnival on Friday night and musical entertainment throughout the weekend.

The Mac & Cheese Fest
The second annual Albuquerque Mac & Cheese Fest takes place at the Balloon Museum lawn on August 20 from 2 to 6 p.m. Le Chat Lunatique and Kat Deluna will perform. There will be beer and wine tastings, games and more. Must be 21 to enter.

Bosque Chile Festival
Enjoy the chile harvest at a celebration on Saturday, August 20 at the National Hispanic Cultural Center from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. The free event features entertainment, arts and crafts vendors, kids' activities, food trucks, beer, wine and chef demonstrations.

Santa Fe Indian Market
Every August, the Indian Market fills Santa Fe's central plaza and surrounding streets with an exciting array of Native arts. The market runs from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and features over 1,000 of the best Native artists, craftspeople and designers.

The science fiction and fantasy convention features a 2016 theme of Rockets, Robots & Rayguns (the three R's). There will be gaming, an art show, auctions, readings, a costume contest, science talk, filking, autographs, dealers, green slime awards, a kids block and more.

Mountainair Sunflower Festival
If you're a folk art lover, you'll find it here. There are arts and crafts, entertainment, food, activities for the kids and a huge celebration of sunflowers. This is a free event. Wear your sunflower hat and you just might win a prize. The festival takes place Friday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Albuquerque Hopfest brings together local craft beer brewers and regional craft brews for a tasting festival like no other. The event takes place at Isleta Resort and features beer, live music and more. With 70 breweries, seven bands and three stages, you'll be busy.

Celebrate food and our agricultural heritage at the Wildlife West Nature Park. There will be a tractor parade, music, vendors, demonstrations and you can finish it off with a chuckwagon supper.
