Audubon Arizona and the Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area
The Phoenix chapter of Audubon Arizona opened in 2009 near the City of Phoenix's Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area.

The Phoenix Audubon Center is located on Central Avenue, north of Broadway Road and south of I-10 and the Maricopa Freeway portion of I-17.
From the north: Take I-17 South and take Exit 196 to Central Avenue. Turn right (south) and drive over the Rio Salado. The Audubon Center will be on your left.
From the south: Take I-10 West toward Phoenix to I-17 and take Exit 195B to Central Avenue. Turn South (left) on central and drive over the Rio Salado. The Audubon Center will be on your left.

Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area
The Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area is adjacent to Arizona Audubon, located along a five-mile stretch of the Rio Salado River near downtown Phoenix. Hiking, biking, jogging, guided tours and educational programs are offered at the Rio Salado habitat area.
There are four trailheads at the Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area:
- 2439 S. Central Avenue (northeast)
- 3212 S. 7th Avenue (southwest)
- 2875 S. 7th Street (southeast)
- 3203 S. 16th Street (southeast)
Parking is free at the Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area. There are modest fees for participation in planned programs at Rio Salado. Reservations for programs are required.
