We're back with our series Inside Atlanta – each week, we sit down with influential locals to talk about what Atlanta means to them. Today we’re chatting with Jeff Francoeur, outfielder for the Atlanta Braves. Though Francoeur has played for various teams – New York Mets, Texas Rangers, Kansas City Royals, San Francisco Giants, among others – he always found his home here in Atlanta. As of March 2016, Francoeur became an official part of the Atlanta Braves roster. The Braves are now in their final season at Turner Field before picking up and moving to Cobb County for their new stadium.
Today we get a tour of The Big Peach lead by Francoeur himself.
I live in… “Suwanee — I love living in Atlanta, I grew up here, but more than that, it’s so diverse, and there’s so much to do. Within an hour you have lakes, mountains and the city. There’s stuff to do, good shopping, good food. I’ll always live here.”
You Can Find Me… “around Suwanee with my kids, taking them to school and going on Chick-fil-A dates, in season. Out of season, you can find me at the golf course.”
It’s Dinner Time, I’m headed to… “Rathbun’s, it’s one of my favorite spots. There’s also a place over in Johns Creek called Trattoria 141, it’s an Italian spot that is so good. And then I would have to say you can’t go wrong with Chops. Also, Chick-fil-A all the time, every day.”
If I Had to Stay in a Hotel, I’d check into… “The St. Regis Atlanta. My wife and I go there on our anniversary.”
I Love Spending My Money At... “Honestly, outside of Christmas, I can’t remember the last time I have shopped for myself.”
