Astrid Taran

  • Astrid has spent almost 10 years working on social media and digital brand strategy for news and brands, including ABC News, NBC and Nickelodeon.
  • Her first job out of college was as a copywriter on the social media team for Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants.
  • She spent several summers in Peru as a child, hiking Machu Picchu at the age of 15.

Experience

Before joining TripSavvy, Astrid was a brand strategist at ABC News’s digital division, assisting in ideating and producing digital stories and videos for the division’s vast portfolio of brand partners. Prior to that, she served as the digital voice of SpongeBob and his friends at Nickelodeon, and assisted in the launch of the brand’s first ever international short film competition for passionate SpongeBob fans. Astrid credits her love for travel to her parents, who dedicated every summer to family travel, from the coasts of eastern Canada to the beaches of South America.

Education

​ Astrid has a Bachelor’s in Film & Media Studies from Hunter College.
