We're back with our series Inside Atlanta—each week, we sit down with influential locals to talk about what Atlanta means to them. Today we’re chatting with Amber Nash, an improviser at Dad’s Garage, and the actor behind the irreverent Pam Poovy character on FX Network’s Archer. While Pam Poovy lives in an alternate, animated universe, Nash is a lifelong resident of Atlanta. When she’s not making people laugh on stage, she’s out exploring the city.
Today we get a tour of The Big Peach led by Nash herself.
I live in… “Little 5 Points for almost 20 years, but just closed on a house in Cabbagetown. I like that it has places like Carrol Street Café and Agave – and my mom grew up there!”
I Wish People Knew… “that we’re a vibrant arts city. Theater, music, street art (like the Krog Street Tunnel)… no one’s telling us what to do.”
You Can Find Me… “I hang out at Dad’s Garage even when I’m not working, but the Euclid Avenue Yacht Club is my second living room (I’ve even gone in my pajamas). I’m also starting to explore the Old Fourth Ward.”
It’s Dinner Time, I’m Headed to… “Wisteria isn’t always on the lists, but it’s a great place.”
If I had to Stay in a Hotel, I’d Check Into… “Sugar Magnolia B&B on Edgewood, because it’s so charming.”
Atlanta’s Best Kept Secret is… “Free Art Friday!
Artists leave free art around town and clues where to find them using the hashtag #FAFATL.”
When I’m Playing Tourist I go to… “The Georgia Aquarium or Zoo Atlanta.”
I Get My Sweat On… “walking around Inman Park and Old Fourth Ward.”
