You can expect hot, dry weather through most of Mexico in the month of April, and that's perfect weather for the beach. This year, Easter is in the middle of April, on the 16th, so Lent comes to an end and Holy Week observations take over mid-month. Here's a glance at some of the most important festivals and events held in Mexico in April:

Daylight Saving Time Begins
April 2, 2017
In Mexico, Daylight Saving Time (called el horario de verano) is observed from the first Sunday of April until the last Sunday in October.

Holy Week - Semana Santa
Throughout the country, April 10 to 16, 2017
Holy week is celebrated with solemn processions, passion plays and religious festivals, as well as some celebrations. Schools in Mexico usually have two weeks off, the week before Easter and the week following, so many families take a family holiday at this time. Because throughout most of Mexico this is the hottest time of year, many of them head to the beach. If you'll be traveling in Mexico at this time, make reservations in advance and expect crowds at tourist sites and beaches.
