Yes, there is a giant giraffe onboard the Anthem of the Seas cruise ship. The Quantum of the Seas has its giant magenta polar bear, so it's fitting that the Anthem should also have its own distinctive piece of outdoor art.

Other than the giraffe, the outdoor decks on the Anthem of the Seas are very similar to her older sister ship the Quantum of the Seas.

Take a look at some of the distinctive outdoor areas on the Anthem of the Seas cruise ship, including the North Star, Flowrider, swimming pool, and RipCord by iFly. You'll also see a look at the exterior of the ship and some of the views guests get while sailing away from New York City, one of the world's best sailaway ports.

The most distinctive exterior features are the North Star, Flowrider and skydiving funnel on the aft deck, and the giant giraffe outdoor artwork.

The RipCord by iFly is the Anthem of the Seas' skydiving experience. The RipCord facility is identical to the RipCord on the Quantum of the Seas. This is great fun, even if you've never had a desire to go skydiving. As seen in the photo, an instructor stays in the air funnel with you, and you never go further than a few feet off the ground. The Ripcord funnel is aft on deck 16.

The Flowrider is just aft of the Ripcord funnel on deck 16. This onboard surfing facility is a popular activity on many other Royal Caribbean ships. It's much more difficult than it looks!

The North Star is a signature feature of the Anthem of the Seas and the other ships in the Quantum class. This glass pod goes 300 feet up into the air and provides guests with a 360-degree view of the ship and surrounding areas.

The North Star is a glass pod, but it's fun to take photos of the pool deck and surrounding seas (even though there sometimes is a little glare).

While the North Star is going up and down, those inside the glass pod snap dozens of photos. This is one of the pool deck not long after starting the upward progress.

One of the best sailaways in the world is leaving (or coming into) the harbor at New York City. Sailing from Bayonne, New Jersey, those on the Anthem of the Seas have great views of the New York City skyline and the Statue of Liberty.
