Based in Montana, award-winning freelance writer Amy Grisak loves sharing her passion for the outdoors with her readers in regional and national publications ranging from Distinctly Montana to The Farmers’ Almanac. She’s won multiple awards in the Excellence in Craft contest through the Outdoor Writers Association of America. Amy’s first book, "Nature Guide to Glacier and Waterton National Parks", was published by Falcon in May 2021. Her second book, "Found Photos of Yellowstone: Yellowstone’s History in Tourist and Employee Photos (1890-1940)" premiered in September 2021.

Prior to writing, Amy began her media career in television, ultimately transitioning into the roles of sound recordist and associate producer while working on programs for National Geographic Television. One of the first programs was “Bear Attacks,” which chronicled various human-grizzly encounters, followed by two episodes on mountain lions. During her time in the field, she received a top-notch education from these apex predators, along with plenty of lessons from her favorite little lagomorph, the industrious pika.
