Where it is:

The Alberta Arts district is located along Alberta Street, between NE 12th and NE 33rd Streets. Its officially in the Concordia neighborhood.

Best known for:

  • A lively arts community that throws a big party every Last Thursday of the month
  • Funky galleries, independently owned boutiques, coffee shops, and restaurants
  • One of Portlands most culturally diverse neighborhoods, with many African-American and Latino-owned businesses
  • Starting in the 1990s, a major revitalization of both residential and commercial buildings, resulting in rapidly rising property values

Getting there:

From downtown, take the Alberta Street exit off of I-5 and turn right onto NE Alberta. NE 33rd and NE MLK are two streets that provide good access to Alberta. Buses that run to the neighborhood are 8, 9, and 10.
