The Akron Home and Flower Show, held each February since 1993, transforms the J.S. Knight Convention Center into a garden wonderland, just when northeast Ohio residents need it the most. With acres of showcase gardens, local celebrities, hundreds of exhibitors, and a variety of demonstrations, it makes a nice oasis from the winter cold.
The main event at The Akron Home and Flower Show is the display gardens, which include more than 7,000-square feet of showcase gardens.
These include a large demonstration garden created by Petitti Garden Centers as well as smaller gardens by Brothers Grimm, Silver Lake Florist and COI Stoneworks. Prizes are awarded for best in show, first, second and third place in several categories.
Celebrities at the 2016 Flower Show included Chef Dante Boccuzzi, Dr. Lori from Auction Kings, Andrew Codispoti from Gervasi Vineyard, vocalist Julie Anna Crookston-Gulenko and cooking demonstrations from Gervasi Vineyard and Western Reserve School of Cooking.
The Exhibitors at the Akron Home and Flower Show
The show will feature hundreds of exhibitors including Renewal by Andersen, Kitchen Craft, Ohio State Waterproofing, Medina Glass Block, Barden Homes, and many, many others.
Other activities at the Akron Home and Flower Show will include home improvement seminars and cooking demonstrations as well as a chance to see exotic animals from the Akron Zoo.
