Looking for a more exclusive, grownup Disney vacation? In 2005, Disney launched a tour company offering premium guided family tours to destinations in North America and around the globe. Adventures by Disney itineraries are known for their bucket-list destinations, low guide-to-guest ration, and many behind-the-scenes, VIP experiences that are exclusive to Disney guests.

Each tour is led by two Disney adventure guides, and each group typically includes about 30 guests. During most of the vacation, families are taken on expeditions and adventures together. Occasionally, there are special activities just for the kids (or 'Junior Adventurers') in the group.

Today the company offers more than 30 itineraries of varying lengths are offered to destinations in the U.S. and around the world, including North, Central and South America, Asia, Africa, and Australia, and Europe. To date, the only continent which does not offer an itinerary is Antarctica. Families can book an enhanced 12-day Ecuadorian trip that now includes the Amazon and the Galapagos, or explores Italian culture on a mouth-watering Tuscan culinary adventure or a new itinerary that takes guests on a journey through the hidden treasures of Spain.

Long weekend itineraries in North America take only several days. Families looking for shorter getaways can visit some of America’s iconic cities with new four-day Long Weekend itineraries that visit New York City, Nashville, and San Francisco & Napa. Other weekend destinations include Central Florida, Montana, and Washington, D.C. & Philadelphia.

Adventures by Disney has added several itineraries with creative tie-ins to destinations featured in some of the most popular Disney movies. For example, an itinerary to Scotland incorporates activities themed to the animated film Brave. The 9-day, 8-night vacation takes guests to the Isle of Lewis, whose people and ancient sites inspired the film. Travelers step between the mysterious Callanish Standing Stones and learn the art of archery. In the National Museum of Scotland, visitors can find the 200-year-old Chessmen of Lewis set, which is depicted in a chess scene between Merida and her mother in Brave.

in addition, an itinerary to Norway brings guests to the real-life inspiration for the kingdom of Arendelle from Disney’s Frozen. The 8-day, 7-night itinerary takes guests into the storybook village of Bergen, through ice-capped mountains, fjords and see the stave churches that shaped the landscape and architecture depicted in the hit film.

In 2018, Adventures by Disney debuted an 8-day, 7-night trip to Iceland, exploring the natural wonders of majestic waterfalls, massive glaciers, and stunning volcanoes.

Highlights of the Iceland itinerary include:

  • Experience the splendor of Iceland’s Golden Circle with visits to the iconic Thingvellir National Park, Goðafoss waterfall and Kerið crater.
  • Unwind at the soothing Blue Lagoon and Mývatn Nature Baths.
  • Come face-to-face with magnificent glaciers on a scenic cruise, and hike on the massive icecaps themselves.
  • Trot through the scenic countryside on Icelandic horses.
  • Embark on a humpback whale-watching expedition
  • Savor unique culinary experiences, such as learning to make bread baked using geothermal heat, and discovering the secret to Iceland’s traditional smoking process.
  • Embark on a whitewater rafting adventure through the glacial river of Skagafjörður.
  • Hike along, and even behind, some of the region’s most captivating waterfalls, including Seljalandsfoss and Goðafoss.

Adventures by Disney European River Cruises

In 2016, Adventures by Disney debuted all-new European river cruise itineraries on the Danube River. These sailings bring families to iconic locations and hidden gems in eight destinations across four countries—Germany, Austria, Slovakia, and Hungary.

These river cruises have proven so popular that in 2018 the company is adding a new 8-day, 7-night "Beauty and the Beast" themed Rhine cruise itinerary, which will visit France, Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands. Along the way, families can hike in the Black Forest, explore storybook Heidelberg Castle, tour the picturesque town of Riquewihr, and enjoy culinary experiences based on the film.

Adventures by Disney is a premium tour company, with prices in line with other high-end group adventure tours. Prices range from around $2,500 per person for a four-day Nashville Long Weekend itinerary to about $8,000 per person for a 12-day trip to Australia, China, or Ecuador with the Amazon and Galapagos. Here is more information on what's included in the tour price.
