The top 64 male golfers in the world meet in a match play event. Jason Day won the last event held in Southern Arizona in Marana (near Tucson) in 2014.

When is the World Golf Championships Accenture Match Play Championship?

The Accenture has not returned to Tucson since 2014. If it returns to Arizona, we will update this page. This event is now called the World Golf Championships Dell Match Play.

Where was it?

At the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Dove Mountain in Marana, Arizona. The course was designed by Jack Nicklaus. The golf course is about 100 miles (a 2-hour drive) from downtown Phoenix, so you'll need to compute your distance and time of travel accordingly. Take I-10 East toward Tucson. Exit at Tangerine Road, Exit 240. This exit is north of downtown Tucson, so if you are driving from Phoenix you won't have to go through downtown Tucson to get there.

Are there any single ticket discounts available?

Complimentary admission is provided to all active, reserve and military retirees and their dependents. Non-retired military veterans along with one guest are eligible to receive discounted tickets. All military must get verified online in advance of the event and bring their downloaded voucher along with matching photo ID to the Ticket Sales window at the tournament entrance gate to receive their offer. A $1 verification fee applies to all those going through the system.

What else should I know?

You can purchase pairing sheets once you are inside the gate. The PGA does not allow/condone the scalping of tickets "on the course, in the parking lots, or on surrounding roads." Cameras or video cameras are allowed during Monday and Tuesday Practice Rounds only.

No backpacks, purses or bags larger than 6"x6"x6". Folding chairs are allowed without the bags, but no large folding chairs. Phones/mobile devices are permitted if they are set to vibrate or silent mode and may be used only in designated areas. No coolers, periscopes, radios, signs, banners, firearms or knives are permitted.

On practice days, the gates open at 7:30 a.m. On the days of the actual matches, the starting times vary.

On Sunday, for the Championship Match, spectators are invited onto the fairway to follow behind the Championship Match starting at the first hole, weather permitting. Fans must remain at least 50 feet back from play and follow the instructions of the marshals. All mobile devices must be on silent mode and put away. Do not attempt to speak with any golfers during their match.

Will it be on television?

Yes; starting on Thursday you can find coverage on the Golf Channel.
