680’s sports talk radio host, Sandra Golden, shares her favorite spots in Atlanta

We're back with our series Inside Atlanta—each week, we sit down with influential locals to talk about what Atlanta means to them. Today we’re chatting with Sandra Golden, the only female sports talk radio host at 680 the Fan. A Florida native, Golden has called Atlanta home for over 23 years. When she’s not co-hosting The Front Row, you can find this fun-loving sports gal in and outside the perimeter seeking out all of the best Atlanta has to offer. Today we get a tour of The Big Peach led by Golden herself.

I live in… “Buckhead. I love being able to walk to my favorite shopping and restaurants. I live in a high rise, and love that kind of living. I love the city!”

I Wish People Knew…  “Atlanta is more of a small town than people think; it's really a bunch of cool, small neighborhoods. Everyone still has their dry cleaner, movie theater and grocery store within a mile.”

You Can Find Me… “at a great concert! I love music, and am thrilled with the A-list artists that have Atlanta on their tours. I love Chastain Amphitheatre, Philips Arena and Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre. Also, Eddie's Attic is my cozy favorite!”

It’s Dinner Time, I’m Headed to… “Davio's for meatballs that are the best in the world, great service and fab food. The bar scene is perfect for a glass of wine (or two) before, during and after shopping.”

Clock Strikes 5’oclock, I’m Drinking… “at The Big Ketch in Buckhead. It's our little hangout, and I think it's because it reminds me of Florida.”

If I had to Stay in a Hotel, I’d Check Into…The Loews. I stayed there with the boyfriend recently for a “staycation" and absolutely loved it. Walking distance to so many cool spots, and the rooms were delish. Comfy and cozy.”

Atlanta’s Best Kept Secret is… “the shopping!  When my girlfriends visit, they are blown away by the amount of unique stores in Atlanta.  The big NY designer stores are all here too, and in a consolidated area, The Shops Buckhead Atlanta.”

When I’m Playing Tourist I go to…The BeltLine, a Braves game, the Atlanta Botanical Garden, the farmers market, and berry picking!

I Get My Sweat On… “walking the BeltLine. And these days you can find me in a pool swimming, getting my cardio on.”

I Love Spending My Money at… “Local shops! My favorite store is Lena Larose in Johns Creek. I get my "hair did" at Van Michael in the Highlands.”
