Albuquerque - Find out where to see fireworks, and whether or not there's a parade near you (there probably is).

Mescalero Apache Reservation - Head out to the Mescalero Apache Reservation to witness a special ritual which just happens to coincide with the 4th of July weekend. The Mescalero Apache Reservation is located in southern New Mexico near the city of Ruidoso off U.S. 70.

Each year, on July 4th visitors can silently witness the Apache Maidens' Puberty Rites, held in conjunction with the tribe's annual 4th of July Celebration. At this time, there is a parade, rodeos, and daily and nightly traditional dancing along with the Coming of Age ceremony. This event is open to the public. No cameras allowed at the special ceremony. Reno - Lake Tahoe - Sparks - With the 4th of July falling on a Friday in 2008, look for considerably more Reno partying than would occur on a weekday.

Crested Butte - This year’s jam-packed July 4th celebration in the Gunnison Valley includes an evening of entertainment for all ages in Mt. Crested Butte. Mormon Lake- Mormon Lake is just 30 minutes southeast of Flagstaff. July 4th, enjoy the Mormon Lake Lodge Fireworks Display. There will be a live band and fun on the back grounds of the lodge. And, July 3, 4 & 5 Mormon Lake Lodge hosts Team Roping at the arena. Free for spectators, fee for entrants. Phoenix- Tons of ideas for your 4th in the Phoenix area. There are fireworks and concerts all over the Valley of the Sun. One of the biggest events is at Tempe Town Lake. Full 4th of July Article.

Tucson- 4th of July Celebration. Tucson Convention Center is the location for many 4th of July activities for all Tucson and Pima County residents. More information.


San Antonio - The biggest Independence Day event in San Antonio is the July 4th Celebration at Woodlawn Lake Park.

The festivities begin with the parade around the park in the morning, followed by musical performances, carnival rides, games, contests, and arts and craft activities all day.

The evening culminates with a spectacular fireworks display over the lake at 9:00pm. Bring your whole family out the Woodlawn Lake Park for a fun-filled 4th of July.
